This process is reversed by the PP1:GADD34 holoenzyme. HSV-1 γ34.5, ASFV DP71L, and TGEV protein 7 are viral orthologues of GADD34 and interact with PP1 to promote eIF2α dephosphorylation and protein synthesis rescue.
