S4 induces glioma cell death. A LN229 and U87MG cells were treated with DMSO or S4 (60, 90 μM) for 24 h, stained with annexinV-FITC/PI. Cell death was assayed by flow cytometry. 5 μM concentration of Doxorubicin was taken as a positive control. B Spheroids were treated with DMSO or S4(30, 60 μM), stained with PI at 24 h and imaged under phase contrast and red fluorescence microscopy (scale bar = 200 μm). C-E LN229 and U87MG cells were treated with S4 (0, 30, 60, 90 μM) for 24 h, the relative expression of cleaved-PARP, LC3, RIP and RIP3 was determined by immunoblot analysis. GAPDH was used as a loading control. Experiments were performed three times (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001)
