GDF-8 upregulates Snail and Slug expression in both HTR-8/SVneo and primary EVT cells. A HTR-8/SVneo cells were treated with 30 ng/mL GDF-8 (G8) or TGF-ꞵ1 (T1) for 3 and 6 h. The mRNA levels of Snail and Slug were examined by RT-qPCR. B and C, HTR-8/SVneo (B) and primary EVT (C) cells were treated with 30 ng/mL GDF-8 (G8) or TGF-ꞵ1 (T1) for 6 and 12 h. The protein levels of Snail and Slug were examined by western blot. The results are expressed as the mean ± SEM of at least three independent experiments. Multiple comparisons were analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s multiple comparison test.
