Schematic demonstrating that Cth can activate the ERK1/2 signalling pathway, induce macrophage efferocytosis, and promote intestinal barrier repair. Macrophages are recruited to the site of intestinal injury, and Cth activates the ERK1/2 signalling pathway in macrophages, which in turn induces macrophage phagocytosis of apoptotic endothelial cells, inhibits the release of the proinflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α, and promotes the secretion of SPMs (Lipoxin A4, RvD1, RvE1) and the anti-inflammatory factor IL-10, thereby helping to restore intestinal barrier function
