Classification of GPCR ligands based on the effect of GPCRs active state. Complete agonists can maximize GPCR activation and signal transmission. Partial agonists can activate receptors but cannot maximize receptor activation. Inverse agonists inhibit the basal activation of the receptor. Neutral antagonists inhibit receptor activation but do not affect basal activation
