Insulin detection in the kidneys and liver using immunofluorescence and qPCR. Representative pictures of isolated insulin-producing cells found in the kidneys (a) and liver (b) of TM-RH using confocal microscopy. The mouse Ins2 gene level was analyzed using qPCR with a hydrolysis probe (c). Mouse Ins2 was found to be 60.4 (± 7.4) and 71.3 (± 8.2) fold higher in the liver and kidney, respectively, of TM-RH than in normal mice.
