JMJD3 function in pluripotent stem cells. JMJD3 plays a critical role in the differentiation of ESCs and iPSCs. The expression profile of JMJD3 suggests that it may contribute to the regulation of ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm differentiation in murine and human ESCs. JMJD3 as an epigenetic barrier is thought to increase during the reprogramming of differentiated cells into iPSCs
