Induction of micronucleus formation in AG1522 CAFs cocultured for 120 h with MCF7 or MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, T98G glioblastoma cells, DU145 prostate carcinoma cells, or H1299 non-small cell lung cancer cells, and then irradiated with 1 Gy of 137Cs γ rays while in coculture. The fold change in micronuclei are normalized to respective sham-irradiated (0 Gy) controls. CAFs from each coculture showed significantly reduced levels of micronuclei, indicating an increased resistance to ionizing radiation, when compared to AG1522 control (p < 0.05).
