Effects of metronidazole (b) and puromycin (c) on the growth of H. pylori. The following strains were tested: N6 wt, ∆htrA, complemented strains with wt htrA (∆htrA/htrA) and with proteolytically inactive variant of htrA (∆htrA/htrAS/A). Serial dilutions of bacterial cultures were spotted onto GC agar plates without (a) and with (b) metronidazole or (c) puromycin and bacteria growth for 6 days. The experiments were performed in triplicate and the representative examples are shown
