Memantine potentiates AraC-induced cell death of AML cell lines. a Dose response relationship for memantine is shown for isolated Kv1.3 currents recorded from the acute myeloid leukemia cell lines HL-60, Molm-13 and OCI-AML-3. Each data point represents the mean ± SD of 5–7 cells from n = 3 experiments. b HL-60 and Molm-13 cells were treated with AraC±memantine for 3 days and OCI-AML3 cells for 5 days. Cell death was determined with PI staining and flow cytometry. For each cell line the percentage ± SD of PI+ cells was calculated from n = 4 independent experiments. c Graphs show the percentage + SD of CytClow AML cells at day 3 (day 5 for OCI-AML-3 cells); for each cell line data was calculated from n = 4 independent experiments
