Effect of HQGGT in combination with 5-FU on CRC proliferation. Human colon cancer cells H630R1 (a) and murine colon cancer cells MC38 (b) were treated with various concentrations of HQGGT and 5-FU for 72 h. Cell viability was measured by WST-1 assay. The Combination-Index (CI) was calculated with CI < 1 indicating synergism between HQGGT and 5-FU. c MC38 cells were treated with HQGGT (0.1 mg/mL) and 5-FU for 72 h, and allowed to grow for an additional 5 days. A representative experiment is shown. d Colony percentages of MC38 cells represent the mean ± SD from 3 individual experiments performed in duplicate. e H630R1 cells were treated with HQGGT (0.07 mg/mL) and 5-FU for 72 h, and allowed to grow for an additional 7 days. Colony percentages represent the mean ± SD from 3 individual experiments performed in duplicate. The number of colonies in untreated wells was normalized to 100%. *, p < 0.05; **, p < 0.01, versus each drug alone
