Inhibition of Erk1/2 activation increases expression of p27Kip1 in CRC cells with high basal Erk1/2 activity. Cells were treated with increasing doses of the MEK1/2 inhibitor U0126 or the compound solvent DMSO at the highest concentration used (m) for 48 hours and then harvested and analyzed by western blotting. Note that exposure times of blots for individual cell lines are adjusted to obtain signals of useful strengths.
