Quantitative image analysis of β1 integrin immunofluorescence. Immunofluorescence images of trophoblast/endothelial cell cocultures or trophoblasts cultured alone in the presence of endothelial cell-conditioned medium (CM) (see Fig. 1) were analyzed for fluorescence intensity as described in Methods. The results are mean values +/- SEM from three separate experiments. The asterisks indicate values that are significantly different (p < 0.05) from the control (trophoblasts incubated alone).
