VEGF enhances COX-2 protein expression in HIMEC. Western blot analysis of HIMEC stimulated by various cytokines and chemokines revealed that VEGF and TNF-α/LPS activation resulted in equally enhanced COX-2 protein expression. HIMEC were stimulated with TNF-α/LPS, IL-1β, IL-8 and IL-1β/IL-8 for 3 – 12 h (Data shown is 3 h activation time period, which was maximal).
