Involvement of the actin cytoskeleton in AdcA response. A. Morphological changes induced by various stresses. Cells in nutritive medium were let to adhere for 1 h on glass coverslips and were treated with 200 mOsm glucose, glycerol or NaCl, 2 mM H2O2, 10 μM FCCP or 50 μM Cd2+. Cells were analysed 30 min after treatment by DIC microscopy with a 63x objective. All stresses except 50 μM Cd2+ led to a rounding up of the cells. Scale bar: 10 μm. B. Actin depolymerisation induces AdcA phosphorylation. KAx-3 cells were subjected to 10 μM cytochalasin A or 5 μM latrunculin B (addition at t = 0) and the impact on AdcA and STATc was followed as described above. The control cells received DMSO alone.
