VSMC GFR-Matrigel transwell assay. VSMC previously untreated or treated with control or CCN5 siRNA (3 × 104 cells per well in 500 μl) were plated into the upper portion of GFR-Matrigel chambers (BD Biosciences) and allowed to invade for 30 hours in response to 10% FCS. Filters were cleaned, fixed, stained, and counted as described in Experimental Procedures. Pictures are of representative stained filters photographed at low power under a dissecting microscope A.
