Dr. Dhyan Chandra is an Associate Professor of Oncology in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, New York, USA. He received his PhD degree in the field of radiation and cancer biology from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. During his postdoctoral training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, he studied the molecular mechanisms of cell death in cancer. His current ongoing research focuses on mitochondria-mediated cell death signaling in cancer cells and cancer stem cells; defining the role of heat-shock proteins in cancer cell survival and death; and characterizing the role of mitochondria in cancer health disparities.
