Aims and scope

Cell Communication and Signaling (CCS) is an open access journal that encompasses all basic and translational aspects of cellular communications and signaling pathways in normal and pathological conditions. The journal encourages submissions of original papers, review papers, short reports, and commentaries pertaining to both eukaryotic and prokaryotic intracellular and intercellular signal transduction, including but not limited to:

  • Signal transduction by protein-protein interactions and modular domains
  • Post-translational modification of proteins and epigenetic modification of nucleic acids
  • Mechanisms of cell transformation, metastasis, senescence, and aging
  • Homeostatic and pathophysiological mechanisms of disease progression
  • Mechanisms of viral and bacterial pathogenesis and virulence factors

In addition, reflecting journal’s affiliation with the International Cell Death Society, CCS welcomes submissions in all aspects of cell
death, which includes:
  • Apoptotic and non-apoptotic mechanisms of cell death,
  • Cell death in model systems
  • Autophagy
  • Clearance of dying cells
  • Immunological and pathological consequences of dying cells in the tissue microenvironment
